I have loved foreign languages ever since I started learning English as a child. Later on, I kept adding other languages like French, modern Greek, Portuguese and, currently, Polish.

I studied English at the University of Oviedo, my home town, and spent 1 academic year as an Erasmus exchange student at the University of Leeds, UK. I found my vocation when I decided to study Translation and Interpreting at the University of Granada. Thanks to English studies I gained a solid knowledge of the English language, but also of the literature written in English. Literature reflects the culture of places as far apart as the UK and New Zealand, the USA and Africa, Australia and the Caribbean.

I have been working as a translator for 17 years, both in-house and as a freelancer. Since 2009 I have been a sworn (certified) translator appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I specialise in the sworn translation of academic and Civil Registry documents. I also translate legal texts, content for international institutions like the EU and UN, tourism and marketing content, and technical and medical documentation (user manuals, medical reports and medical device instructions, research papers). I have translated two popular science books independently, and also co-translated a young adult novel and excerpts from essays by a contemporary author as part of the literary translation master’s programme of Billar de Letras School.
